With the Employee Wellbeing Program (EWP), you can offer employees direct access to confidential counselling that is cost-effective, straightforward and accessible. Dealing with workplace trauma and critical Incidents

Workplace Trauma and Critical Incidents, such as a workplace accident, the sudden illness or death of a co-worker, or a crime committed in the workplace can have a lasting, debilitating impact on workers, if unaddressed. Carizon offers immediate, supportive, on-site group and individual debriefings, consultation for leaders, and follow-up counselling. Additionally, our specialized team offers consultation for organizational preparedness.

Carizon understands the importance of interventions that may be applied to individuals, small functional groups and in support of those in leadership roles. Our focus is to reduce the acute distress, facilitate individual and group resiliency and foster a solid return to productivity and personal/workplace wellness. Having support available immediately after a traumatic event will lessen the long-term effects and strong reactions that people often experience. Workplace Trauma and Critical Incidents, such as a workplace accident, the sudden illness or death of a co-worker, or a crime committed in the workplace can have a lasting, debilitating impact on workers, if unaddressed. Trauma services assist employees in returning to a normal level of functioning sooner. The Carizon team provides “the calm after the storm.”

Additionally, our specialized team offers consultation for organizational preparedness and skills building. Reaching out, supporting others and building common language around the impact of trauma entrenches resiliency building as a sign of strength. Skills building can include stress management education, stress resistance, and crisis mitigation. Strengthening cognitive coping skills, building on the very effective cognitive behavior therapy principles, and work/lifestyle modification are two potentially high impact areas.

Workplace Violence Prevention

Our Workplace Violence services help you strengthen safety, including education/awareness, threat assessment and supports for all involved – leaders, the perpetrators, the target and other co-workers affected. Let us help you build your violence prevention strategies.

Our Workplace Violence services help you build organizational capacity to address domestic violence and aggression in the workplace, training, threat assessment, safety plans and supports. By recognizing signs of violence and knowing how to respond and refer, employers can help prevent serious injuries and fatalities and meet their Health & Safety obligations.  Carizon’s team will work with you to introduce a program and/or integrate these best practices into existing workplace violence prevention programs.

Why Choose Carizon for Your EWP?

The Carizon EWP is everything an EWP should be – personal, professional, accountable, and committed to strategic partnership. We provide EWP services to more than 15,000 employees. We manage successful programs in every economic sector, from organizations with 3 employees to over 2500, with operations across Canada and the USA. We have experience in the education sector, health care, professional services, manufacturing, environmental services, food production, for profit and not-for-profit.

First and foremost choose Carizon for quality EWP services that will benefit your workplace and the lives of your employees. It’s the quality of service that distinguishes us. In our accreditation review, our Carizon EWP achieved a 100% rating on the mandatory standards. Our clients have given us feedback with highly positive ratings on satisfaction and impact.

Counselling is our core business. The vast majority of people who contact us seek in-person counselling. We believe that our clients are experts in their own lives and ultimately know what they need. We augment the in-person service with technological and complementary services, but always in a way that best serves the needs of the client.

Rooted in Waterloo Region but with a national reach, we work collaboratively across our communities. Innovation and collaboration are two key operating principles. They shape how we work — in our first-in-Canada Family Violence Project, a collaboration with 12 partners providing wrap-around support for victims of family violence; in our work with Pathways of Canada, helping create a “graduation nation”; in our work in community centres across the region; in our Promise of Partnership with Reception House assisting refugees to Canada. These operating principles give focus to future directions, as we hope to serve you, not just as an EWP provider but as a strategic partner.

The Carizon EWP structured as a social enterprise. All of our proceeds support community-based programs that benefit at-risk individuals and families in the community. We are unique in the EWP sector as a not-for-profit provider.
