When life happens, make your budget work for you.
Life happens. And when life happens, it can affect everything from how much sleep we get to how much energy we have to get through the day. It can also affect our wallet and bank account balance.
Have you been through an important life transition? Perhaps you have lost a member of your family. Perhaps you are expecting a child and trying to manage parental leave and future day care expenses for the first time. Perhaps your workplace has taken an unexpected turn. Perhaps you are planning to retire. Or perhaps you have decided that 2018 is the year when you will get your finances in order and this change has happened within you.
A friend of mine recently lost her job, which also led to her losing her home. This friend acknowledges that she was in a very good position because of her community and the money she had saved, and that this fact has less to do with luck than it does with privilege. Her community supported her and she was able to stay afloat. This isn’t the case for everyone.
When things get thrown out of line, there is no shame in reaching out for some help to get us on track. This is why Carizon is offering Money Matters: a workshop on budgeting and managing finances through important life transitions. This workshop promises spending tracking tools and relatable budgeting information. It also offers a judgment-free space where you can get more information about more resources that are available to you.
Whatever your transition, Carizon is here for you. Money Matters is a free Carizon workshop on Monday, February 12 from 6:30-8:30 pm. Location: 400 Queen Street South, Kitchener. For more information or to register you can call 519-743-6333. Or register online.
